SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

It is important to us that we can operate in a way that doesn't harm or impact our environment. We strive to set new sustainability targets to help us to continuously improve our environmental impact. We are incredibly proud to be ISO14001 certified. To achieve this, we are constantly guided by our sustainability values.

Our sustainability values

- our business policy is to only seek to use manufacturers who have similar sustainability values to ours.
- to be transparent to our customers in how we operate.
- to operate without causing damage to the environment.
- to reduce our overall contribution to producing emissions and adding to landfill.
- to increase recycled material procurement so we can improve our resource management.
- to re-use packaging materials, including plastic bags and cardboard boxes, where possible.
- to recycle responsibly, especially with regards to excess packaging, working together with our waste contractors Hills Waste.
- to continuously be looking for measures to reduce our emissions in our daily practice.
- to investigate practical tools to manage our environmental responsibilities.
- to maintain being ISO 14001 certified (environmental management system).

Reusing packaging

At Mister Uniform, we actively discourage the use of single use plastics, such as polystyrene and bubble wrap. Instead, we favour using the right sized cardboard boxes, packing out garments with recyclable items such as cardboard and paper. Where possible, we will re-use packing including good condition cardboard boxes and the original garment bags, to ensure safe delivery of your order. If we receive garments unbagged from the manufacturer (eg. polo tops), these items will go out unbagged unless requested. This is to cut down on plastic waste. It's important to us that we repurpose single-use plastics by using them again, keeping them with the original garment. To reduce the unnecessary printing of paper, we do not send a Good Returns Note (GRN) as standard, but these can be sent electronically when requested.

What is ISO 14001 and why is it important to us?

ISO 14001 is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system. It maps out a framework that we follow to set up an effective environmental management system, providing us with requirements with guidance for use that relate to environmental systems. It provides assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.

It is important to us because it helps our organisation improve on our environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste. Therefore allowing the customer to trust we are doing our very best to reduce our environmental impact.
